Intimate weddings are just wonderful.

Last month I photographed Jo Lynn & Nic’s very intimate wedding at Chetola. It was the perfect reminder of why I continually find myself photographing intimate weddings and attracting non-traditional clients. The laid back atmosphere and one-on-one interactions at smaller affairs make some of the most memorable wedding memories and fit my personality and shooting style. The entire day was calm, fun and full of love <3

Nic’s grandparents own a home in nearby Seven Devils and when Nic popped the question last Christmas, Jo Lynn knew they had to get married at Chetola (a dream of both of theirs). Chetola is perfect for smaller weddings since the atmosphere is intimate and tucked away. Jo Lynn and Nic got married in front of the amazing fireplace just inside of Timberlake’s Restaurant. Jo Lynn incorporated her son Brody into every aspect of the day. He walked her down the aisle and held both her and Nic’s hand throughout the ceremony. Such a sweet, sweet family!

One of my favorite aspects of the day was just how in love Jo Lynn and Nic are. You could see their adoration for one another and they were both very natural in front of the camera. Solid in their love for one another, their beautiful ceremony filled my heart to the brim.

The day began with Jo Lynn relaxing and getting ready in her suite while Nic and Brody hung out and prepped for the day in the hotel attached to Chetola Resort Inn. Brody was a total prankster and I tried my best to capture candids of him throughout the day (successful on a couple of occassions, I might add!). When the ceremony began, Jo Lynn entered the ceremony space via the staircase connecting the Inn to the restaurant. Jo Lynn & Nic tied the knot surrounded by their closest people and ushered in a new phase for their family. Nic remembered his father by wearing both his new wedding band and his father’s wedding band (you can see a close up of both in the gallery below).

After the intimate ceremony in front of the fireplace, everyone braved the wind and chilly temperatures to capture images on the grounds near the lake. And did you know about the library nook upstairs at the Inn? It made for the perfect place for Jo Lynn & Nic to have a moment to themselves as newlyweds and where I captured some of my favorite photos of these two. The day wrapped up at the start of dinner where everyone sat together at a large table in a private room at Timberlake’s. The cake and key lime pie from Ugga Mugga Bakery looked sooo good 🙂

I’m so happy for Jo Lynn, Nic and Brody and enjoyed being a part of their special day. Congrats!
