This wedding was a long time coming! Caiti & Ed booked me back in February 2020 for their 4th of July wedding here in the High Country. Little did any of us know what this year would have in store, but that didn’t stop them from celebrating their union with their closest family and friends <3
Caiti & Ed are two of the most peaceful and loving people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Just being in their presence puts me at ease and makes my heart joyful! I feel so lucky to have met them and to be their family and wedding photographer. After they shifted their original 4th of July 2020 wedding plans, Caiti decided to plan a small elopement ceremony with only their immediate family (and close friends) in attendance. When she chose Halloween as their new wedding day, I was SO excited! I adore the energy of Halloween and I also knew that 10/31 was the day that Caiti & Ed met! Maybe things do happen for a reason 🙂
The day began with Caiti, her sister, mom, her daughter Leola and her close friend Mollie getting ready at her mom’s house here in Boone. The cozy atmosphere inside the cabin was so welcoming and warm, just like everyone I encountered on this sweet wedding day.
Caiti’s dress is from local dress boutique Juniper James Bridal and she found it just a week before the wedding! I want to express just how lovely Caiti is in this dress — I could tell she felt at home wearing it 🙂
When it was nearing time for Caiti & Ed’s first look, I zoomed over to Daniel Boone gardens for some quick portraits of Ed. How about this handsome man?!
Caiti & Ed were REALLY excited about their wedding celebration. Since they already have two kiddos, it was really important to them to celebrate their love and union, which as parents can be a challenge. There’s no doubt in my mind just how much these two love one another. When I see them together, I see true love and caring affection in their eyes. Caiti & Ed are an incredible couple and team!
The ceremony was officiated by Caiti’s father on the lawn at Daniel Boone Gardens surrounded by their closest family and friends <3 Their ceremony was so lovely, romantic and sincere. The kids hung out with family friend Mollie, while her husband zoomed in family and friends who weren’t able to be in attendance. It was a true witnessing of the power of love to bring folks together!
At the end of October, we were just beginning to feel the chill of winter setting in, and the sunny afternoon offered GORGEOUS light for family photos! Also, I want to give a little shoutout to their son River… this was literally the most loving kid I’ve ever met!!! He wanted to make sure I was staying for dinner and was so thoughtful and caring. He’s such a sweet boy!
After the ceremony, everyone joined the newlyweds for a backyard gathering at their home just a few blocks from the gardens. I adore just how real and down-to-earth Caiti & Ed are. They are truly the kindest humans and I’m honored to have been their wedding photographer!
This year has had so many unexpected gifts and the laid back, loving atmosphere of this wedding day is a testament to that! Congrats to Caiti & Ed!
