It’s been a whileeeee since I’ve blogged. Since then, I’ve had a baby, bought a house, survived a pandemic — it’s been a ride!
Why then, might you ask, would I choose this wedding to blog about after so much time??
It was the perfect day with the right mix of style, intimacy and golden hour light!
Sarah & David actually had a rehearsal dinner at the Mast Farm Inn in Valle Crucis, NC that was equally as gorgeous and sweet as their wedding day at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock, NC. It was SUCH a treat to photograph these two lovebirds twice! I may be slightly obsessed with how stunningly beautiful Sarah is <3
One of my favorite parts of this small, intimate wedding day was the fact that Sarah was 100% excited for and into wedding day details! She specifically asked me to photograph a flat-lay for her, which is always a blast. Sarah & David’s wedding day is a testament that you don’t have to skimp on details even if you have a small wedding. On the contrary! Downsizing your guest list and having a microwedding here in the North Carolina High Country is the perfect way to focus in on what you love most, while also relaxing into the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge mountains.
(this wedding cake topper was a family heirloom — LOVE!!!)
I adore the sprawling lawn and golden hour light at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock. The ceremony space just beneath their giant willow tree, the lake backdrop and the light coming through the trees at sunset are a photographer’s dream-come-true.
Golden hour photos — YES, PLEASE!
As a Boone, NC based photographer, I live for Blue Ridge mountain summer evenings. Corn hole, a beer or Moscow mule, fried chicken and waffle hors d’oeuvres, and late-summer sunsets with the best of friends and family make for the best memories.
If you’ve been contemplating a small wedding or even a microwedding, this is your sign! Sarah & David’s wedding day in Blowing Rock is the perfect example of how magical an intimate wedding day can be. Say YES to exactly what you want and focus in on what getting married is really about — celebrating your love with your closest companions!
