Samantha’s boudoir session last month was by far one of the most powerful sessions I’ve ever photographed. It was *perfect*. She brought confidence, chill, laughter, joy and self-acceptance that I wish every one of us could embody. You know what else she brought? Friends! Samantha invited two friends to stop by as “hype women” for her session, which is an option for clients during their session. Having other women there to support you throughout your session is a beautiful way to foster a community of women.
Samantha’s journey to boudoir comes from her own experience with physical trauma. In 2021, Samantha began a medical journey that led to her having a permanent ostomy bag placed in 2022. Hearing her story made me realize that our physical health can change at any moment. For that reason, loving your body at every stage of growth is so important. Samantha actually found me through Facebook when a former client tagged me on her post about wanting to do another boudoir session. Oh yeah! This gal has already walked the boudoir path before, which makes me the lucky photographer to capture her fire without all the nerves of a first boudoir experience.

Going into the session, Samantha said that she wanted this session to be about body-positivity more than sensuality. Thus, I guided the posing towards celebration and not just sexuality. However, Samantha really brought the magic and was fun, joyful, beautiful AND sexy. Get it, girl!!!

Boudoir photography is transformational and can capture the beauty of a physical, outer transformation along with depth of an emotional and spiritual transformation. Every story is powerful and I’m so honored that I get to hold space for women in all their glory, boldness and subtle beauty <3
