Film
Film photography is where I got my start. While studying fine art photography at UNC-CH, I completely fell in love with shooting film and developing in an analog color darkroom. I adore the time it takes to compose, meter and create an image with film. I love the feel of the mechanical shutter opening and closing when you press the shutter release. Negatives are just divine when held up to sunlight.
A couple of things to note with shooting film at weddings:
- It requires a second shooter the day of the wedding so that no digitals are missed.
- It’s art! So the focus might be soft, the look grainy and just overall have a different feel.
Two add-on options:
- ~$350-500 – for a basic add-on (~5 rolls of film shot mostly during details/portraits/family, about 30-60 images, and film developed, scanned, edited)
- ~$1000-$1500 – for a more extensive film package (~15-20 rolls of film shot through the day, about 100-150 images, medium format film included, and film developed, scanned, edited)
Gear: I currently shoot on a 1960’s Nikkormat 35mm and a Mamiya C330 medium format with 120 roll film.
