Sometimes everything goes just right. Alison’s Bridal session was just one of those times. We scheduled her session in the middle of August in at the NC Arboretum in Asheville. As you may know about the mountains, rain is always a possibility. BUT that saying “if you don’t like the weather, wait 15 minutes” really applied for Alison’s Bridal session. When we pulled up to the entrance to the Arboretum, rain drops started to fall. Uh oh! However, this lovely lady just relaxed and we waited as the radar showed that the storms would soon blow over. Thank goodness for smartphones! Sure enough, after about 10 minutes the rain stopped and we hopped out got started shooting.
I’ve heard people say to brides “you make such a lovely bride”, and I’ll tell you what, Alison made such a GORGEOUS bride. My second shooter and I couldn’t stop oohing and aahing at just how regal Alison is in her dress. She looks just like a queen!
After about 45 minutes at the Arboretum, we hopped on the parkway for the “main event”. These images are what Alison had been dreaming of for her session, and I’m SOOO THANKFUL to have been able to capture them for her!
Have we talked about these sleeves! I know that strapless wedding gowns have been a trend for a while now, but I find long sleeve dresses to be the most romantic. Can I just wear lace sleeves all the time? Seriously though, Alison’s dress fit her personality and aesthetic to a “T”.
It’s sessions like these that make me remember WHY I am a photographer. During her shoot Alison was all smiles while me and my second shooter and her friend who helped all held back tears and I ultimately was able to capture *exactly* what my client had hoped for in her heart. Additionally, y’all know that I live to photograph the beauty of the folks I work with in the NC mountains. Thus, everything about this session was a win!
I am so looking forward to my upcoming sessions this fall. If you want to go on a sunset fall adventure with me, I’d be honored to capture images of you!
