Welcome to 2020! A new year. A new decade. And a new you!
Let’s be real. It’s still the same you. But as we begin this new calendar year, let’s take the opportunity to begin anew with our goals, intentions and our mindset. How are we going to do this? We are going to show up, show ourselves and what we do to the world. We are letting people see behind the scenes. We are putting our face on our social media feeds and we are branding ourselves as a part of our business with updated headshots and a Branding Mini-session!
Ugh. Headshots.
Maybe you have headshots from a while ago (last year, last quarter, last decade ;)… see what I did there). Maybe you’re not feeling up to photos because the holiday season this year was GOOD… a little too good and you don’t think you are looking your best. Maybe you hate being in front of the camera and headshots are just not something you do.
You are at the heart of what you do.
Well, let me ask you this: what is at the heart of your business?
It’s you! You are your work, your brand and who your customers and clients interact with. Obviously, this isn’t all that you are. However, your work is what you do for the majority of your time each week. You are providing service and support to your clients (no matter what line of work you are in) and what keeps them coming back to you again and again.
So why aren’t you showing your clients more of yourself in through your online presence and social media?
Professional headshots and especially updated headshots of you are the best way to connect with your clients online. Folks LOVE to see who is behind the magic of what you do. Did you know that photos with you in them get far more engagement than photos of the stuff you make or your service offerings?
Selfies and phone photos are great for capturing life as it’s happening. However, professional images of you add professionalism and credibility to your persona. And a professional photographer also knows how to capture your best side in the best light — I will see the beauty in you no matter what.
So let’s give the people what they want already!
Photos of you! I’m inviting you to join me for a Branding Mini-session on January 15-16th and let’s get your lovely face into your social media feed. This mini-session is a quick, easy way for you to update your look, your brand or even just refresh your Facebook profile pic. All you have to do is brush your hair or straighten that tie and show up!
Branding is a huge part of what we do as a business even if we aren’t aware of it. Your brand is what our audience sees and feels before they even meet you. This is conveyed through the content, text and visual imagery that make up your storefront — whether virtual or brick and mortar. Thus, it’s important to keep your brand relevant and up-to-date.
I know that photo of you from 2006 was SO GOOD, but you aren’t who you were back in ’06. You are better, stronger, wiser and far more professional now. Let’s showcase that!
Your branding mini session will consist of a ~20 minute session where we capture headshots along with a few branding images. The session will capture both formal headshots as well as several candids. I also invite you to bring along your promo materials (business cards) or an item that showcases who you are and what you do. If you sell cars, well, you have your car keys already! If you’re an online entrepreneur, bring your laptop. If you are just doing this because you need new headshots, but you ALSO love sunflowers and they really represent who you are, bring them!
Are you seeing the value in this yet?
Here are the details for the session:
All images will be sized for printing (high res) or for online sharing.
You will also have the option to purchase more/all the images through your gallery once they are delivered.
So are you in yet or what?
(Oh hey, it’s me, your photographer!)
