Hey!
I'm here to capture all of life's moments. I work with couples, families, entrepreneurs and women who seek to empower themselves through boudoir photography.
Read my story.
Brittany & Jason almost eloped. I’m so glad they didn’t. Their wedding was SO. MUCH. FUN. These two know how to have a good time and make it a priority in their lives. For this, I am so thankful because Brittany & Jason shared that happiness with their friends and family at their Burlington, NC backyard wedding.
Instead of eloping, Brittany & Jason had their wedding in their own front yard! I mean they have a lovely pond, shady trees and gorgeous late afternoon light, so why not have their nuptials in the comfort of their own yard?! As you probably already know about me, I ADORE this. I’m such a homebody and find that the foundation of my relationship with my partner as well as my creativity all flourishes within the comfort of my own home and space. This makes total sense for these two as well because they have built their house and property to be the center of their love as well.
Thus, the day began with Brittany getting ready at home with her maid of honor Kristen setting up the yard for the afternoon’s festivities. I also arrived super early, which allowed lots of time for fun detail shots. Brittany & Jason are animal lovers to the core. They own a flock of ducks, cats that double as children and one very spirited chihuahua named Pnut. Her large, fluffy couch lion Bear and Pnut were with her up until go-time on her wedding day, which I just LOVE. Also, present was another dear friend of ours Brittany Byrd who always keeps things interesting. She helped Brittany get into her dress <3
(I felt honored to make it on the “allowed in the house” list 🙂 )
Brittany cracks me up. I met Brittany while working at a retail music store. We’ve travelled together, we’ve laughed together, we’ve been through some crazy stressful situations together — Brittany is a dang rock, you guys! Leave it to Brittany to tell it to you straight and keep you grounded in reality. I freaking love this about her as she’s definitely seen me through some hard times. I am so proud of her and was honored to be her photographer on her big day <3 She made a stunning bride and really had the MOST fun on her wedding day.
Brittany said she was only going to have two bridesmaids because if she didn’t limit herself to two, then she would have ten. Show some love for these lovely ladies…
Brittany’s mom made all of the bridal bouquets and boutonnieres for the wedding day. Such talent!
Let’s not forget Jason and the guys!!! These dudes cracked me up. It was hard to get them to keep a straight face and I’m totally OK with that vibe. I got to hang out with Jason and his friend Jayro last month at the Big What festival and I was SO pumped to see both of them on Jason’s big day. Also, Jason’s dad was his best man! He kept everything super fun and really threw down at the reception 😉
Everything about the wedding was so laid back and fun. No one was stressed, everyone was just pleasant, happy and ready to party.
The ceremony commenced with friends and family looking on. The ceremony was short and sweet.
The timing after the ceremony was *perfect* for photos. We spent some time taking photos on Brittany & Jason’s property and then took advantage of the newly opened rooftop at Burlington Beerworks.
Brittany & Jason like to have a good time. Thus, when it came time for the reception, they didn’t have many traditions and opted for food, drinks and dancing.
I’m so thankful to have Brittany & Jason in my life <3 and grateful to have such fun-loving friends. Cheers to these two as they start their next chapter!
